Composite Restorations (Fillings)

When a tooth suffers decay or other damage, it is important to repair the tooth in a timely manner to prevent the damage from becoming more severe and painful. If a tooth suffers from minor to moderate decay or other damage, our dentist may recommend a restoration called a filling. We offer composite (tooth colored) fillings for an esthetically pleasing look.

Composite fillings are so named because they are created from a substance called composite resin. This resin material can be matched to your natural tooth color for a natural-looking restoration that blends in beautifully with the rest of your smile. The composite resin also bonds with the natural tooth structure to give your tooth a strong, lasting restoration.

In order to place a composite filling, we will first remove all decay from the tooth. We then clean the tooth and fill it with composite resin. After carefully sculpting the composite resin to fit your tooth comfortably and esthetically, we harden the filling using a special light. The process for placing a composite dental filling requires only one comfortable visit to our dental practice.
